Bright Night

The world at last, has met its fate;

The setting is Siberia, 1908[1].

An amazing event occurred, and in its prime;

It changed the world, and is the greatest event of all time.

It happened in a region, very far away;

Few people know what happened that day.

For this century, the episode was quite new;

The story I’m about to tell you, is actually true.

The incident begins, the night before;

It all starts out, with a very loud roar.

The earth shook, for miles they say;

Midnight was dark, but turned to day.

The noise gave off a tremendous light;

For a second there, the world was bright.

The thunderous sound, it was safe to assume,

Was louder than that of a sonic boom!

It glowed like a sun; it was hard to look;

Land trembled, and the Earth did shook!

An epicenter that was shaped like an arc;

Strangely though, the impact left no mark.

The forest gave the object enough space to hide;

Had it took place over a city, many people would have died.

The vicinity was infected with many rays[2];

Fires raged, for days and days!

Trees fell down, for miles around;

Nothing alive was ever found.

The Earth was just right, and with luck;

Many would say a comet had struck!

If that is true, then explain this to me:

There is no crater, you must agree!

Another issue however does arise;

Suppose the rock was just the right size;

The chunk would explode, and in midair;

That would explain why there is no crater there.

Meteors strike, and with much ease;

The blast would have flattened thousands of trees.

Tunguska in Russia is a very large brook;

There are many theories that one can look.

Suppose antimatter[3], made it through the sphere;

A colossal flare would have taken place here!

That conclusion though, might be a bit abrupt;

The evidence surrounding it is a bit corrupt.

A theory of attack aroused many fears;

The atomic bomb won’t be here for years!

The area it struck was near the pole;

Some surmise it was a black hole!

Perhaps it was a UFO, but there is no way!

The devastation can still be seen today!

The destruction was human, and if you may,

What happened is a mystery, and it shall stay!

Tesla’s Death Ray

In the early century, one being had a plan;

Nikolai Tesla was the world’s smartest man.

He worked with Edison, and was the brightest of the day;

Nikolai Tesla invented the ray[4]!

Often he was shunned, and he was looked down;

The power of the ray could destroy a town!

Perhaps that’s what hit, but perhaps not quite;

He aimed for the pole, not the wood that night.

Possibly his device was very false;

The flash was most likely caused by the pulse.

He discovered much, but at a cost;

After his death, much was lost.

A great deal of power was seen in his ray;

His weapon may even exist today.

On his demise, went missing his files;

“The teleforce[5] could melt planes for miles!”

Hoping the energy could work itself;

Tunguska was caused, by Tesla himself!

Meteor Shower

Events in nature follow paradigm[6];

What if a comet came at just the right time?

And entered the sphere at just the right spot;

Burning through the air, as it got hot;

Taking a path shaped like a hook;

Exploding in sky, over the brook.

This enlightenment is much more sound;

Strangely though, no remnants were found.

That would explain why the trees fell down;

That shows why no crater was around.

You would need a rock of perfect size;

A perfect day and perfect skies.

The rock would have been more than a ton;

A chance that this repeats is slim to none[7]!

The event is important; no more will ever come.

The theory is decided…the meteor has won!

Out of this World

Sometimes we must go beyond the turf,

And look at the universe ahead of the Earth.

Look at this scenario, and it shall impede;

Imagine a plane, falling at top speed!

Now suppose it has parts, not of this race,

With machines, which are ahead of our pace[8]!

This advanced craft, had very bad aim;

Nuclear power is ahead of our game.

Strange isn’t it? But it’s not the end;

The force was Hiroshima, ten times ten!

Energy of that strength, gave the earth hurt;

Its blastoff would have shifted the dirt!

The vessel had left the area clean;

This is why no residue is seen!

Now presume the craft was on the right track;

What if its main purpose was to attack?

If this is proper, no one can say;

They fired their weapon, in our way.

This premise is like that of a child;

It started out fine, but ended up wild!

If this ever happened (which it never will[9]),

We will simply have one less branch to fill.

Events like these are far and few;

Pray that this assumption…is never true!

Search for Answers

An expedition to the site would likely suffice;

A little more knowledge would have been nice.

Something mysterious happened that night;

Sadly not many could see the sight.

Humans are not all knowing, for they are blind;

Knowing what ensued, will change our mind.

Mankind is advanced, and that is a plus;

Nature is stronger than all of us.

With our science, we discover a lot;

Will we understand this? Probably not.

Always in life, we come to a turn;

Tunguska is something we all should learn;

Nature is powerful, and has her ways;

She can bring life, but end your days.

The incident, is a grand lesson to man;

For it is life that nature began;

The universe sprung time, and it does grow;

Yet all that existence can end in a single blow.

If Tunguska happened again, it would be a blast[10];

Unfortunately, it would be mankind’s last.

Most of us would not live till then,

Hope that it does not happen again.

If our living earth, has a fate,

Just like that day, in 1908.

Do not reject life, for it is from whom you grew;

The world will likely be mean to you.

The cosmos needs life, and they depend;

Life from nature cannot defend;

If Man and Nature, are no longer friend;

Then fall Earth and Nature transcend.
